Although sweating is a normal function of the body designed to keep the body cool and to regulate its temperature excessive perspiration can lead to an uncomfortable existence and many embarrassing situations. Your career and your dating life can get ruined, to name a few social complications arising from excessive sweating. After all, no one wants to date a person whose forehead is dripping with sweat all the time or give him a position of any responsibility in a company if he is forever mopping his forehead!
Hyperhidrosis can occur anywhere there are sweat glands; however, it mostly occurs under the armpits, hands and, in some cases, the forehead. The hypothalmus, which controls sweat-related functions, sends a signal from the brain to the sweat nerves.
These nerves then send a signal to the sweat glands instructing them to produce sweat. With hyperhydrosis, the sweat glands ignore the signals from the sweat nerves and start producing a lot of sweat.
Change your diet
Dietary changes have shown to help in the reduction of forehead sweat. Over-salty and processed food should be avoided. Food with a high content of calcium should also be taken in moderation and instead of having normal milk you should opt for skimmed milk.
Not only will this keep the calories at bay, it will significantly help in lowering your sweat level. Any food containing MSG should not be taken and too many carbohydrates are not recommended for those having a lot of forehead sweat. Onion and garlic also should be eaten only very infrequently.
Using an antiperspirant containing aluminum chloride (it blocks sweat glands) can also be of use. The worse the problem of forehead sweat, the higher the amount of aluminum chloride is needed in the antiperspirant.
Many roll-on solutions are available at local pharmacies which have to be applied before bed time and on a dry forehead. This is then washed off in the morning. Avoid eye contact with the product during application.
Witch Hazel
Witch hazel extract can be bought at most health food shops, drugstores or corner shop stores. It's derived from the plant's bark, twigs and leaves. I was completely unaware of witch hazel when I first learned of this facial sweating remedy but let me tell you - it works wonders!
Make sure that your hair is completely off your forehead and avoid using makeup on your face, as both can cause sweating.
Wash your face every night before bed as well as when you wake up in the morning.
Aloe Vera Juice
This is a more watered down version of the popular aloe Vera sold as a moisturizer. When applied to the skin, aloe Vera has a pleasant cooling effect. This makes it particularly helpful during hotter seasons like summer or spring.
However if your exaggerated sweating fires not by temperature but by hyperhidrosis (a condition of excessive sweating not matter what temperature it is), you will find your results to be more short term.
It is a guide on how to get rid of sweating that is written by medical researcher Miles Dawson. Visit the official website and watch a short video presentation that outlines the treatment, see more about related writing at: http://adola.net/go/sweatmiracle/
